Foibe by Sharon Ritossa

During winter and spring 2016 Sharon Ritossa took photographs of foibe, deep natural sinkholes typical of the Karst region, along the Italian, Slovenian and Croatian borders that were used at the end of World War Two as mass graves to hide the bodies of Italians, Croats, Slovenes and Germans killed for political reasons.

Mattia Mura followed the project, in particular the realisation of the book, designed by Roberta Donatini, and the main exhibition in Rome, where he filmed the opening.
